This section identifies theoretical sources from the period 1474-1650 in the German-speaking area.
The bibliographical database was established based on the RISM B VI, library catalogues (namely F-Pn and F-Sn) and bibliographies published in specialised publications. It is made up of 450 printed works to date (first editions and reissues) and systematically provides the author's name, the title, the place of publishing, the date and, whenever possible, links to existing facsimiles available online. At this point, the process of identification has focused on the systematic inventory of first editions (or earliest known editions), supplemented with reissues for which digital facsimiles can be found online and copies from the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the Bibliothèque Nationale et Universitaire de Strasbourg. These data will be progressively supplemented with systematic information on reissues and works conserved in other locations. A database for manuscript sources is in preparation.
This database is collaborative: it can be supplemented and corrected by any person who logs in on the website. Please contact the scientific director to report a mistake or ask for credentials.
